It is a specific reference to the shared characteristics of their soldiers, the qualities of whom were first and most valiantly shown on the battlefield in World War I. Some of the qualities are endurance, courage, ingenuity, good humour and mateship. A direct illustration of these brave soldiers expressing their virtues during the hardships and toils of war would not necessarily translate into art all that well. Instead, Moorcroft designer Nicola Slaney offers what she knows to be meaningful, touching and expressive: flowers. ANZAC Legend combines delicate boughs of yellow wattle representing Australia, the platinum lustred silver ferns of New Zealand and a red tulip, adopted as Turkey's floral emblem. Nicola has tastefully wrapped all three floral emblems around the popular jug shape and backed her design with a deep, sombre Moorcroft
