Scotland has a long tradition of paperweight making, greatly influenced by the Ysart family. John Deacons started glassmaking in 1967 when he was apprenticed to Strathearn Glass (where Salvador Ysart was the founder).

John Deacons has a long history in paperweight making at various Scottish firms such as Strathearn and Perthshire. After some 50 years in the business, John's lifetime of learning, development and refinement of his techniques sees his creative talents producing quality paperweights at Deacons Glass.

Deacons Glass is a family run studio (where John and his son Craig produce weights) situated the ancient market town of Crieff, Scotland.
