Besides natural ivory, ivory can also be produced synthetically (French Ivory), hence (unlike natural ivory) not requiring the retrieval of the material from animals. Tagua nuts can also be carved like ivory.
Australia has had a ban on ivory imports since 1990, however it remains legal to buy and sell ivory items domestically. As a result our Ivory offerings ares not available for overseas shipping.
The items we offer for sale are genuine, authentic old items sourced from estates and collections. They are not "modern" and are only sourced from within Australia - and as such, the current elephant population has not been jeopardised as a result of our offerings.
