Approx 20.5cms (8") tall
Approx 28cms (11) wide at the shoulders of the pot

Overall  in excellent, damage free condition
  • One bead of the many, many beads in the decoration is missing, either it was never applied or has been lost during the life of the pot

  • One minor clay firing "fold" which was from expansion of the clay during firing [noted in last picture with red arrow]

About John Slater | Slaters Patent
Born in 1844, John Slater was the Art Director at Doulton & Co, Burslem from 1887 until his death in 1914.  He was involved in the development of many of the special glazes and techniques including  Doulton & Slaters Patent.  This process involved the use of lace fabrics impressed into the surface of wet clay, to produce a decorative floral technique. When the clay dried to biscuit form, the lace fabrics were removed and the resultant impressed patterns were gilt and hand enamelled.
